Ernesto Rodriguez-Leal holds a BSc in ME with a minor in EE from Tecnológico de Monterrey, MSc in Mechatronics and Global Technology Management at the Technische Universität Hamburg-Harburg, and PhD in ME from King’s College London. Ernesto completed a Certificate in Strategy and Innovation at MIT Sloan, and participated in the Graduate Studies Program at Singularity University. He has been recipient of scholarships and research grants from Hylsamex, DAAD, CONACYT, INADEM Körber AG, and the Governments of Kazakhstan, Peru and Chile. He is the author of the book entitled “Evolutionary Design of Parallel Mechanisms” and over 30 peer-reviewed publications. He has filed four patent applications in the areas of Robotics and Biomedical devices. Ernesto has been the thesis supervisor of 3 PhD and 8 MSc students. He is the co-founder and president of Fundación Aukera AC, co-founder and CEO of WeaRobot, and co-founder and CTO of Hoope. His companies have been selected to participate in programs such as Startup Mexico, Startup Chile, Startup Peru, Startup Health NY, Leaders in Innovation Fellows by the RAE, TMCx and competitions such as Startup Nations, Hello Tomorrow Challenge, winner of the MIT Hacking Medicine at SXSW, twice winner in the World Cup Tech Challenge in the areas of Health and Robotics-AI, and winner of the Venture by Chivas Regal Mexico. Ernesto has been speaker in events such as TEDx Cuauhtemoc, TEDx TECdeMTY, and E-merge Americas. He is currently an Associate Professor of Robotics at Tecnólogico de Monterrey.

Ernesto Rodriguez Leal

Ricardo Roberts received his BSc in Mechatronics and PhD in Engineering Sciences degrees from Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2009 and 2015, respectively. His doctoral dissertation focused on haptic devices, particularly on the development of a force feedback apparatus that is currently being used for simulation and assisted navigation applications. His current research interests include haptic devices, human-machine interaction, and sensory substitution. Ricardo is author of over 4 peer-reviewed publications, and 2 patent applications. He is a member of the National Researchers System of the Mexican Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT). He is currently a lecturer in Robotics Prototyping and researcher at the National Robotics Lab at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Ricardo Roberts Ugrinovic

Eduardo Piña Martínez received his BSc in Mechatronics Engineer and MEng in Control and Automation degrees from Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2012 and 2014, respectively. He is currently enrolled at the PhD in Engineering Sciences where he focuses on the design and development of wearable robots for motion assistance and rehabilitation. Eduardo is the author of over two peer-reviewed publications and one patent application. He is a member of the National Robotics Lab at Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Eduardo Piña Martinez

Physician scientist with 7 yrs. of experience in basic, translational and clinical research, with a focus in cancer, cardiovascular disease, advanced imaging and implementation of advanced technology in healthcare. He successfully collaborated across institutions and disciplines with experts in biological, clinical and engineering sciences. He authored and co-authored 13 peer reviewed publications and 18 national and international conference proceedings. Jose is the inventor on 2 patents pending and in process. He currently advises 1 biotech company in the areas of surgical and medical education.
